We took train from our hotel at Wilderswill to Grindelwald, then took gondola to Grindelwald First. One may also hike from Grindelwald - First which is a point-to-point trail that covers 4.5 mi, with an elevation gain of 3,648 ft. It takes about 3.5–4 hr to complete.

There are many adventure activities at Grindelwald First, such as First Flyer, First Glider, Cliff walk and mountain cart. We planned to try first flyer or first glider, both are zipline type of activities. Due to long queue, we did not try. Besides we would go for Paragliding at Interlaken the next day.
We hiked on Bachalpsee lake trail (4 km point to point). The trail is easy with gradual modulations, the vista gorgeous - the green mountain add colors to the surrounding grey mountains with white glaciers. When we reached the lake, we rested at a bench by the lake, enjoyed the changing vista and some snack. We also took a hyperlapse photo to record what we saw.
Most people who hike on the trail, return to Grindelwald First on the same trail. We did not want to repeat the hiking, so we hiked beyond the lake, took the trail to Grindelwald. This trail goes to valley between Grindelwald and continue on the mountain that stands across the valley from Grindelwald First, in addition greenery, glaciated mountains, there are numerous creeks which flow to a river at the bottom of the valley, many cows in the meadow. We encountered a herd of cows cross the trail right in front us.
The trail is not hard, but long. We decided to short cut to take the Gondola to Grindelwald, so we could save some time and have a lake cruise on Lake Brienz see.
We ordered a beer and sausages with fries at Bort Gondola station, plus picnic food we brought, and had a leisure lunch on a patio with beautiful views before taking the Gondola to Grindelwald.
Grindelwald First was a great excursion from Interlaken.
